Ambedkar Jayanti or Bhim Jayanti was observed on 14th April 2023 to commemorate the memory of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, Indian politician and social reformer. It marks Ambedkar's birthday who was born on 14 April 1891. It is also referred to as 'Equality Day' by some in India.

The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Sri R.K.Singh, GM (Proj) by lighting the lamp and was joined by Sri Kausik Mondal, GM (Dismantling & Decommisioning), Sri Chander Shekhar, GM (CCD), Sri Deepak, GM (Engg. Servives), Sri Rohit Kumar, HoHR and other dignitaries of NTPC TTPS.

Smt. Pratibha Priyadarshani, Asst. Collector (Talcher) was the Guest of Honour and Shri Suresh Chandra Rajahansa (Professor, Govt. College Angul) addressed about the life and contribution of Dr. B.R.Ambedkar.

On this occasion a cultural program was held by the children of Adruta Children Home (An orphanage for children).

Various competitions such as essay writing, drawing and debate was organised for the children studying at DAV Public School and DAV Talcher Thermal High School.
